Victoria Falls River Lodge is the first lodge built in Zimbabwe’s Zambezi National Park and is close enough to Victoria Falls to see the spray. All of the rooms in the lodge are high quality, but the Island Treehouse Suites make this property stand out among the rest. The unique stilted suites stand on the banks of Kandahar Island among the trees with the waters of the Zambezi flowing beneath. Elephants and hippos can be seen grazing from the soaking tub or private plunge pool, while the muted earth-tone decor adds an element of zen to the scene.
Game drives, river cruises, tours of the falls, and birdwatching expeditions are all included in the rate. Over 400 species of bird have been documented in the area, and birders will have the best luck from November to March. The lodge can also orchestrate more adventurous activities such as river rafting or zip-lining. Day tours of nearby destinations like Chobe National Park in Botswana.
