Maxa is an intimate tented camp in the Okavango Delta, set in a grove of jackalberry and ebony trees overlooking the permanent Maxa Lagoon. It has five tented suites, including one family unit, raised on wooden decks in a pared-back, natural style of stretched canvas and sandbag-and-plaster walls with indoor and outdoor bathrooms. Quirks include a wood-fired oven built into an old termite mound and a chlorine-free pool fed by Delta water. Being on permanent water, it is largely mokoro- and walking-focused, with game drives and planned boat excursions.
