Sand Rivers is Nomad Tanzania's flagship camp in Nyerere National Park (the former Selous), built by conservationist Richard Bonham in 1984 on a rocky bend of the Rufiji River. Accommodation is eight open-fronted rooms with uninterrupted river views — five riverside rooms and three hillside suites, the latter with private plunge pools. The draw is the water and the wilderness: boating safaris on the Rufiji, walking safaris, and fly-camping under the stars.
