Samara Plains Camp is a small, off-grid walking camp perched on a hill overlooking the semi-arid plains of the 67,000-acre Samara Karoo Reserve in the Eastern Cape. It has four tents with bucket showers, giving a stripped-back, classic-safari feel in the heart of South Africa. Walking safaris tread through scrub where springbok, gemsbok and black wildebeest roam, and the reserve is one of the best places in Africa to see cheetah on foot.
