The Emakoko is a family-run boutique lodge built into a hillside on the edge of Nairobi National Park, owned and hosted by Emma and Anthony Childs, who live on site. It has ten rooms - five set against the cliff and five along the lower river bed - plus a two-bedroom family cottage with its own pool. Its unusual draw is the location: it sits within the only national park bordering a capital city, so guests can be on a game drive minutes from Nairobi's airport.
