Camp Hwange sits on a 12,000-acre private concession in the heart of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's largest reserve, founded in 2010 by a renowned Zimbabwean guide. Accommodation is eight canvas-walled tents beneath thatch, rustic and comfortable, each overlooking a natural waterhole. The camp is known for expert-led walking safaris across the savannah ecotone between mopane woodland and teak forest, with veteran guides tracking elephant, buffalo, lion and sable, often ending at a log-pile hide over a waterhole.
