Chada Katavi is Nomad Tanzania's classic tented camp in remote Katavi National Park, Tanzania's third-largest park and one of its least-visited, known for enormous buffalo herds and giant hippo pods across a million acres of floodplain, grassland and woodland. It is six canvas tents styled simply in campaign fashion, with few frills so the focus stays on the wildlife and the sense of being close to nature. Guests can add fly-camping expeditions to sleep out under the stars, and the camp pairs naturally with chimp trekking at its sister property, Greystoke Mahale. It closes for the rains from December to May, and children twelve and older are welcome.
