Sarara Camp is a solar-powered, off-grid safari camp in the 850,000-acre Namunyak Conservancy, set on the slopes of the Mathews Mountains in northern Kenya. It has six en-suite canvas tents plus the two-bedroom Sarara House, styled in earthy tones, with an infinity pool overlooking a waterhole where elephants gather. This is Samburu country, and the activities lean cultural and adventurous - visits to the community-run Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, the singing wells, and horseback safaris. Children are welcome.
