Miavana by Time + Tide is an Indian Ocean resort on Nosy Ankao, the largest of five islands in a remote archipelago off northeastern Madagascar. The 14 one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas are modern with local accents, each steps from the beach with a private pool, butler service, and stocked kitchenette; the island was rewilded with over 100,000 native trees planted during construction. The draw is the water and the wild - snorkelling and fishing, forest walks for lemurs, and helicopter safaris to the mainland. Access is a helicopter hop from Diego Suarez or Nosy Be, and children are welcome.
