Taylor River Lodge is a remote off-grid cabin experience near Crested Butte in Colorado. The 8-acre property was once used as a general store for Taylor Canyon fishers, and it remains a fly-fishing hot spot because of its proximity to two of the best trout fishing rivers in the United States. The property has almost a mile of semi-private frontage on the Taylor River, and the Gunnison River is only a short 15-minute drive away. Guest will enjoy casting in the stocked trout pond before floating the river on a guided expedition. Those not interested in fishing will also have plenty to do. The surrounding mountains offer world-class hiking and mountain biking, and the lodge includes amenities like a rock climbing wall, archery range, spa, game room, and bathhouse with a steam room and pool. The eight cabins are all sited over the foundations of historical cabins and are decorated in a subdued yet creative Western style. Evenings can be spent tucked in with a good book or outside trading stories around the campfire.
The lodge is all-inclusive and guests are provided a personal guide to take them on their Colorado adventure. We recommend finishing your Colorado itinerary with an in-town stay in Crested Butte at Taylor River Lodge’s sister property, Scarp River Lodge.
