ol Donyo Lodge is set on an almost 275,000-acre private conservancy in the Chyulu Hills between Kenya’s Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks. Guests can soak in their private plunge pools and look across a stunning savannah to Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Each suite also includes a star bed, so guests can sleep out in the open air. Safari goers have many options to explore ol Donyo besides game drives, including horseback, guided walks or hikes, and mountain bikes. There is even an underground hide that looks out on a waterhole adjacent to the lodge. Two of the last remaining super tusker elephants are known to stop for a drink here.
The conservancy land is owned by almost 4,000 Maasai, and the Great Plains Foundation supports numerous schools in the area.
