Classic Zambia operates two simple yet stylish tented safari camps on islands in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Both camps are small, with only five tents, and have the feel of a remote bush camp. However, there are still comfortable linens, flush toilets, and bucket showers, so you aren’t totally roughing it. Chula Island Camp is located on Katengahumba Island, with epic views of the Zambezi, and is separated from the mainland by the famed canoeing area, “The Discovery Channel.” Kutali Camp is located downstream in a scenic winterthorn forest, which is ideal for a wide variety of safari activities.
Game drives and boat safaris are on offer. However, the camps pride themselves on a high standard of guiding, so we suggest exploring the area on foot or by canoe. These are two of the best camps in Africa to slow down and immerse yourself in the wild.
