Zambia - Fauna Travel

Zambia

Zambia is often overshadowed by its neighbors, Zimbabwe and Tanzania when it comes to safaris, but the country is a fantastic destination in its own right. It is best known for the stunning Victoria Falls, which it shares with Zimbabwe, but there is much more to the country. The walking safari was born in South Luangwa National Park, and the Lower Zambezi National Park lies just across the river from the famous Mana Pools. Zambia is also home to the second largest wildebeest migration in Africa on the Liuwa Plain, and Kafue National Park is one of the largest protected areas on the continent.

Many camps are closed from November to April for the wet season, but this means less big brands and more family run operations. Travelers can also get more value for their money in Zambia because it is less visited than other destinations, but the wildlife experience is one of the best in Africa.
