Toka Leya is located on the north bank of the Zambezi River in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, just upstream from Victoria Falls near Livingstone, Zambia. The camp is built among the trees on a series of raised wooden platforms and walkways that minimize the camp’s impact on the landscape. The 12 modern safari tents that make up Toka Leya all include en-suite baths and were recently refurbished for a much more spacious and luxurious feel. The main lodge includes a communal fire pit and infinity pool, and there is even a small gym and spa. Guests can watch the elephants and hippos grazing along the river from the camp’s large viewing decks or on sunset boat cruises.
Game drives in the National Park are also offered daily to view wildlife like zebra, buffalo, giraffe, and antelope. There are few predators in the small park, but it is an excellent place to track black rhinos on foot. Victoria Falls is the main attraction here, and guests can experience the massive cataract on foot, by whitewater raft, or by helicopter. Toka Leya is both an exciting jumping-off point or climax to your Zambian safari itinerary.
