Miavana

Miavana is a picture-perfect Indian Ocean resort located on Nosy Anko, the largest of five islands in a remote archipelago off the northeastern coast of Madagascar. In developing the resort over 100,000 native trees were planted on the island and only natural and recycled materials were used in construction. The resulting one, two, and three-bedroom villas are all tastefully modern with local accents and are mere steps away from the beach. Each includes a private pool, butler service, and a stocked kitchenette. Beyond the villas, the island itself offers a variety of land and water-based activities to occupy your time. Water sports, including fishing and snorkeling expeditions in the crystal blue waters, are top-notch. Guests can also explore nearby forests for lemurs or take a helicopter safari to visit mainland attractions.

With flights from both Nairobi and Johannesburg, Madagascar makes for a great beach stop at the end of your safari. If you just want to relax on the beach, direct flights to Madagascar are available from multiple cities in Europe. Be advised that the small island of Nosy Anko is only accessible only by helicopter from Diego Suarez and Nosy Be airports.
