Lake Malawi is Africa’s third largest lake–and certainly its clearest. The sparkling blue waters are home to more species of fish than any other lake in the world, as well as one rustically romantic beach resort. Kaya Mawa is a laid-back escape that translates as “maybe tomorrow” in Chichewa/Nyanja. The 12 rooms and family houses that make up the property are tucked around a picturesque white sand beach on Likoma Island in the northeast corner of the lake.
