If you love textiles just as much as you love wildlife, Jack’s Camp was made for you. The iconic camp in the remote Makgadikgadi Salt Pans of Botswana is known for its glamorous tents, but the area also offers a range of engaging desert activities including unrivaled stargazing, San bush walks, and (in the green season) the second largest zebra migration in Africa.
All guest tents are large, decorated in a Persian/African campaign style, and include private plunge pools overlooking the pan. Other camp facilities include a roving tea tent, natural history museum, and a large tented pool pavilion. Jack’s Camp and the Makgadikgadi Pans are a desert stop that contrasts well with an itinerary that includes Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Jack’s Camp enthusiasts will be interested in Duke’s Camp, the new sister camp that opened in the Okavango Delta in 2022. Helicopter transfers between the two can be arranged.
Natural Selection Travel also operates San Camp in Makgadikgadi, which is designed in a similar style but more muted color scheme.
