Emily & Patrick in Zambia 2026

10 Nights | $26,148

This is revision of your last itinerary, and I think you’ll really like it. The weather will be much cooler in early August but the wildlife will still be great. Because the gate can be busier in South Luangwa in August, I’ve moved a night from Chinzombo to Mchenga. This saves some money and is more private. In Lower Zambezi, I’ve moved you to Anabezi. It’s not the most luxurious room in the park like Chiawa, but it’s still really nice, and the lodge is pretty remote and private.

All domestic flights are included in this price. A private guide is included in South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi along with one day of fishing. Here’s the breakdown – let me know if you need any revisions.

August 1-2: Chinzombo

Arrive on your international flight to Lusaka. As discussed, this may involve an overnight in Johannesburg, or you can fly direct via Doha, Addis Ababa, or Nairobi. There will be a representative to greet you at the airport and help you to your Proflight Zambia to South Luangwa National Park.

On arrival you will be met by your private guide who will be with you for the duration of the stay in the park. He will drive you to Chinzombo, where you can unwind from your flight and enjoy your private pool or spa. You should have time for an afternoon game drive. The gate has really good wildlife but it can be more busy in August.

August 2-4: Mchenja

In the morning, drive deeper into the park to Mchenja on an extended game drive. This lodge has a great riverfront location and a small pool – a good mix of rustic and luxury. After settling in, take an afternoon game drive to explore the area and possibly see the colony of carmine bee eaters.

Your next full day at Mchenja, you can enjoy either drives or walking safaris.

August 4-6: Luwi

Wake in the early morning and start the long walk to Luwi camp – the most remote in the park. After 3-4 hours you will reach Nsolo camp where you can have lunch and freshen up. Your driver will then drive you the rest of the way to Luwi, unless the weather is really nice and you want to do another 3 hours of walking.

Arrive at Luwi camp in the afternoon. This is a remote tented camp, but it has all of the comfort you need. Resident lions make this place feel super wild. Mornings can be spent walking and afternoons on foot after a nap.

August 6-10: Anabezi

Your driver will pick you up in the morning for a longer drive to the airport where you will catch your flight to Lower Zambezi National Park. Anabezi is deep within the park on a stunning riverfront location. This is one of my favorite places I’ve traveled to. Spend your days watching elephants drink on the water, canoeing, fishing, walking, and driving.

August 10: Departure

Catch a morning flight back to Lusaka and onward towards home.
