People who have visited Mana Pools National Park get a distant blissful look in their eyes when talking about it. Something about the location along the Zambezi, the wildlife, and the light makes for an unforgettable safari experience. Chikwenya is a luxury camp located on the eastern border of Mana Pools along the Zambezi River. The area has spectacular views and an abundance of wildlife, including elephants, lions, wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs, and a variety of antelope. Visitors have multiple options for viewing wildlife including 4×4, boat, and on foot. The camp also partners with Painted Dog Conservation to support and grow the population of wild dogs in the area.
The camp itself is tucked into a densely forested area along the floodplain. Tan luxury safari tents sit on raised decks with comfortable interiors that blend easily with their surroundings.
Note: Chikwenya is closed for the rainy (muddy) season from late November to April.
