Kruger National Park may bring to mind long lines of self-drive safaris, but the experience at Singita Lebombo could not be more different. The lodge is located within a 33,000-acre private concession on the eastern side of the park, along the border of Mozambique. The size of the property will make you feel like you have Kruger entirely to yourself. This area is well known for its populations of lions, leopards, elephants, and rhinos.
The lodge’s 15 spacious suites are perched along a ridge overlooking a river and feature massive picture windows and beds on the deck for sleeping out under the stars. As with all Singita properties, the food and design are world-class. The smaller and more contemporary Sweni Lodge is located nearby and is a great option if you are looking for an exclusive use option. These properties may be luxurious, but that does not mean Singita has sacrificed its responsibilities to the land. Their Lowveld Trust manages a wide range of conservation projects in the area, including anti-poaching initiatives and community projects such as a world-class culinary school.
